Microsoft Surface tablets gear up for football season with new NFL Type Covers - tilleysamium

Donning spiked articulatio humeri pads, a silver helmet and skull mask to celebrate the Oakland Raiders season opener might draw more or less odd looks during your next budget merging. But a Raiders-themed Surface cover? Pretty sweet.

Until now, this has all been a tobacco pipe dream for Surface owners, unless you busted out the model paints. On Mon, however, Microsoft and the NFL announced that fans of all 32 teams bequeath exist able to buy themed Type Covers for $159.99 at blue-ribbon Microsoft Stores and online; they'll be sold in Foremost Buy and on Amazon origin on Aug. 29.

(You can land yourself a discount, though: If you buy a Surface Pro 4 and the NFL Type Treat together, the Type Screen's price is $129.99. Otherwise, that $159.99 damage is the same damage Microsoft charges for its Rise Pro 4 Signature Type Cover also as a version with a fingerprint reader embedded in information technology. Unfortunately, the new NFL Type Covers were designed for the Shallow Pro 4, non the older Surface Pro 3.)

"We try lots of things unsuccessful with Surface, and stimulate mocked up a lot of different types of Eccentric Covers for Surface Pro.," Panos Panay, collective V.P. of Microsoft Devices, wrote in a web log Emily Post. "Unmatchable that I thought was really cool was a Seattle Seahawks keyboard that someone happening our team up successful in the fashion mode shop."

Panay knew just who to give it to: "I had a chance to come across Paul Allen," the Microsoft cofounder who bought the Seahawks in 1996, "gave it to him, and atomic number 2 tweeted a picture." That was entirely the cover needed to gain renown, Panay continuing: "The response we got was intoxicating – happening Twitter and from coaches and players. So we started to dig in on how we can do this for all the teams and NFL fans."

Why this matters: Microsoft has worked hard to make the Surface tablets a staple of the NFL sideline—flatbottomed as NFL players have taken out their frustrations connected them (or utilized them to celebrate A-one Arena victory). Microsoft, meanwhile, has vigorously defended the toughness of the Surface tablets, particularly since the interpretation given to the NFL is cased in a sturdy tutelar case. Surface tablets are now even in the latest interpretation ofCraze football, cementing their role as a valuable avocation assistant. The NFL Type Covers, then, are just a natural outgrowth of that partnership.
